September 4 – 8, 2011 ENBIS-11 Coimbra Conference
The 11th annual meeting of the European Network for Business and Industrial Statistics (ENBIS) was held at the University of Coimbra (Portugal) and aimed to bring together professionals who are involved in business and industrial statistics. The conference has offered opportunities to meet each other and to share ideas and best practices.

July 18, 2011 - 8th International Workshop on Software Cybernetics
The effectiveness of software technology and the quality of generated software have greatly impact on technological products and services, economic activities, defense, scientific research and social life. This is particularly true as software tends to be services and operate in emerging systems, such as cyber physical systems and cloud computing systems. In order to achieve the objective that software can serve well in dynamic environments with changing user requirements, the software must be adaptive based on the external input and feedback of the application physical systems.

A Workshop on Modern Analysis of Customer Satisfaction Surveys was held June 14, 2011.This workshop was designed to present modern methods for the analysis of customer satisfaction surveys. The morning session is devoted to presentations of contributors to a forthcoming book (with the name of the workshop) to be published by Wiley in December 2011 and

A Workshop on Statistical methods applied in microelectronics was held 13th of June at Milan, Italy.
The workshop aimed at sharing both methodological and practical issues about the use of statistics in microelectronics manufacturing giving an opportunity for statisticians and users from industry and research labs to meet and share their experiences and the state of the art of statistical methodologies applied in the semiconductor industry (process control, defectivity analyses, sampling reduction..). KPA was invited to join a consortium with the University of Newcastle to develop and implement the quality system of the European Railway Agency (ERA). ERA regulates all railway activities in Europe.

The 10th ENBIS-DEINDE spring conference was held in Turin on 16-18th of March. Professor Kenett was invited as keynote speaker and gave a talk on “Statistics as a Profession” and “Managing Risks with Data”.
